Vehicle Safety Checks

Here are simple and easy vehicle checks that you can regularly conduct: 

• Check that the front and rear lights are all in working order
• Check for chips or cracks on the windscreen and wiper blades
• Check all tyres for adequate tread
• Check the condition and inflation of all tyres, including the spare tire
• Check the condition of the shock absorbers
• Check the condition of the battery and ensure that the battery water is topped up
• Test the brakes for stopping ability
• Check the exhausts for leaks, noise, vibrations, and bad smells
• Check that all fluids are topped up to the correct levels in the cooling system and that the radiator cap seals properly
• Check that the vehicle is equipped with a reflective triangle, working flashlight, car jack and wrench
